Report: Gazprom, Saipem can settle 760 mln euro claim peacefully
MOSCOW, Apr 12 (PRIME) -- Russian gas giant Gazprom can settle a 760 million euro claim with Italy’s Saipem over cancellation of the South Stream gas pipeline out of court, newswire Milano Finanza reported on Tuesday.
Saipem earlier submitted a lawsuit against South Stream Transport, a unit of Gazprom, to the International Chamber of Commerce demanding to cover its losses because of the cancellation of an agreement to build the South Stream gas pipeline.
According to sources cited by the newswire, Gazprom is worried that the court can satisfy Saipem’s claim and is seeking to solve the conflict peacefully.
